down.

“What does Dad want?”

Grace looked at him.

“Apparently he wants to discuss resolving the ownership disputes before law enforcement freezes company says Thomas believed you were the key.”

“Why me?”

“Because you inherited Edward Walsh’s interests and later married Julian.”

I felt bitterly.

“Dad would say that.”

“Why?”

“Because it makes Thomas responsible for everything.”

Chen continued.

“Richard says Thomas deliberately kept evidence hidden so it would emerge at a time when it would cause maximum damage.”

I thought about the texts.

YOU FOUND THE STORAGE tomorrow?”

“That’s the part Richard claims he knows.”

My pulse changed.

“What?”

A pause.

“Tomorrow is the scheduled don’t.”

I turned back toward Chen.

“What does that have to do with me?”

“Richard claims Thomas believes you have the legal authority to stop the choice?”

Daniel answered.

“Let Riverside close and possibly lose leverage.”

“Or stop it.”

Julian’s voice hardened.

“And destroy the company.”

I looked at him.

“No.”

“That is exactly what happens.”

“No. That is the framing Thomas knew.

But it was another layer of guilt.

Another reason Thomas might have spent years collecting evidence.

Julian stared at his father’s old business records on Daniel’s screen.

“Dad built everything on this.”

Daniel corrected him.

“Your father built everything on everybody.”

My phone received a old Vale building.

Richard beside him.

Thomas on the other side.

Date stamped the night before my father died.

Behind the photograph, someone had written a sentence.

Chen had photographed that too.

EDWARD WAS READY TO TELL VIVIAN.

I stared at the words.

My father had tried to warn me through a letter.

Michael had tried to preserve proof through a trust.

Both had intended the truth to reach me.

And somehow, for eleven years, every path had been blocked.

Until now.

Julian
